Authorities have opted not to charge actress Heather Locklear with felony domestic violence after her climactic arrest in California two weeks ago.

One source indicated the former “Melrose Place” star would not face domestic violence charges at all — only misdemeanors concerning claims that she kicked and pushed sheriff’s deputies who were dispatched to a complaint at her Thousand Oaks home in February.

An attorney is going to appear on Locklear’s behalf at her first hearing in Ventura County Superior Court on Tuesday.

The 56-year-old was arrested on felony domestic violence and three counts of misdemeanor battery on emergency personnel, according to PEOPLE.com.

A spokesperson with Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said she became “combative” and resisted arrest when officers responded to a domestic violence call from her home and discovered that her boyfriend had suffered from an apparent “traumatic” injury.

“She was uncooperative. (Locklear) started pushing and kicking when the deputies determined probable cause for the domestic battery and they were attempting to arrest her,” Captain Garo Kuredjian said.

The deputies did not notice any injuries on Locklear, but the actress alleged that she was hurt and went to a hospital before she was booked into the Ventura County jail just after 1 a.m. the following day.

Heather Locklear was released several hours later after she posted $20,000 bail.

Officers did not identify the boyfriend, but Locklear has been dating former high school sweetheart 56-year-old Chris Heisser.

Heisser was arrested for a DUI shortly just after Locklear was arrested as he drove a Mercedes on the 101 Freeway in Ventura County.

“He was driving at an unusually slow speed,” California Highway Patrol Officer Marco Marin stated.

“Heisser provided a breath sample that came back .19% blood alcohol.”

Heisser was taken into custody just before 1 a.m. and was charged with misdemeanor DUI. He released just after 8 a.m. with a court date scheduled for April.

The actress was previously arrested in 2008 on suspicion of DUI. She pleaded to a lesser charge of reckless driving and was given probation.

Locklear was one of the biggest actresses of the 1980s and early ’90s and twice married famous rock stars.

She was married to Motley Crue band member Tommy Lee from 1986 to 1993 and Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora between 1994 and 2007.

Her engagement to fellow “Melrose Place” actor Jack Wagner fell apart in 2011. The two had a post-breakup dispute in December 2011 that led to a police report, but no criminal charges were filed.
