Florida Police lieutenant busted for reverse DUI

A police lieutenant was arrested for DUI Sunday evening after cops discovered their drunken colleague driving in reverse and honking her horn through the streets of Pinellas County.

The now former-officer, 41-year-old Christi Ruhtz, was busted with bloodshot, glassy eyes and smelling of alcohol in Pinellas, Florida around 2:00 a.m., according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Ruhtz was stopped by police after someone contacted 911 to report her odd driving.

The officer reported failed multiple sobriety tests and a breathalyzer revealed that her blood alcohol level at 0.14, considerably above the legal limit of 0.08.

Rhutz, who’d been employed with the Pinellas County Sherriff’s Office since 1998, was immediately terminated.

She has been charged with a DUI and was released without bail.
