Violent drug trafficking organization busted in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania authorities launched raids earlier this week targeting a violent drug trafficking organization in Berks County.

Officials announced the arrests Wednesday, of 15 people as part of “Operation Shattered,” including 29-year-old Jesus Feliciano-Trinidad,  also known as “Chewy” who was purportedly heading the elaborate criminal enterprise.

Law enforcement officials the probe, which began in September 2017, had initially targeted Trinidad but soon investigators had identified 19 other individuals as active members of the organization withFeliciano-Trinidad as the group’s head.

Authorities are still actively searching for five other suspects,  ABC6 reports.

The group is believed to be responsible for shootings, assaults and other acts violence in Reading and Berks County.

Feliciano-Trinidad purportedly conspired with other members of the group to execute five people including a rival drug dealer within the past month.

Investigators thwarted the plot after police raided a home, arresting four individuals as the rival drug dealers who were targeted for death.

“They had no thoughts, no qualms of committing murder or killing someone that was in their way,” said Reading police Chief Andres Dominguez. “The guys involved in this organization were dangerous.

Officials revealed the ring conducted up to $20 million in drug transactions in one year.

Prrosecutors added that $750,000 worth of drugs, which included heroin and cocaine, were confiscated in the bust.
