Police in the United Kingdom posted an electronic perp sketch of a robbery suspect with an unusually wide grin, which immediately drew parody by users on Twitter.

Warwickshire police posted the perp sketch of the suspect’s giant smile on its Twitter page.

The sketch immediately prompted analogies to the Cheshire Cat from “Alice in Wonderland,” and “the Joker” villain from the Batman comics.

One user tweeted: “And this guy is still at large?” With another person cheekily responded: “His teeth certainly are.”

Despite the humor, police maintain the e-sketch wasn’t accidental.

Cops said the image was generated from a description provided by a woman who was victimized during a serious robbery case that occurred on February 5th.

“We can confirm that this is real and that we anticipated the attention!” they wrote on Twitter Tuesday.

Warwickshire police officials said two suspects managed to deceive their way into the home of a woman in her 40s.

While one suspect distracted the victim, the other ransacked her home and made off with a bundle of cash.

“Hopefully the attention will mean we identify the offender/bring him to justice quicker,” they wrote.
