Law enforcement officials seized $1 million worth of narcotics from a residence during a drug raid in Bexar County, Texas on Monday.

Bexar County deputies carried out a search warrant at approximately 7 p.m. in the 3900 block of Bay Street.

Inside of the residence, they seized over 12 pounds of meth, 9 pounds of heroin and about half a pound of cocaine and crack cocaine, according to the Laredo Morning-Times.

“I can say that this is a big hit for us,” Sheriff Javier Salazar stated. “But we can’t just sit on our laurels and pat ourselves on the back. The work continues.”

Authorities arrested Jimmy Zavala Jr. in connection with the drug raid.

Authorities also seized tens of thousands of dollars and seven firearms, two of which were altered with extended magazines. The guns included shotguns, handguns, along with a mini AK-47 style rifle.

After the search was carried out, deputies took Jimmy Zavala Jr. into custody. He is held on federal drug and weapons charges.

DEA Special Agent Dante Sorianello referred to Zavala as a mid-level “polydrug” dealer, distributing multiple types of narcotics.

“We see more of that,” Sorianello said. “They don’t care what poison they put on the streets.”

Salazar said the investigation may result in additional arrests.

Zavala, whose family was present at the time of the raid, was arrested without incident outside.
