The parents of a 5-year-old child were taken into custody on Friday in Ohio after leaving their daughter alone in a home used for drug trafficking with illegal narcotics in plain view and within the child’s reach.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said a welfare check-in by Ohio Family Services in response to a medical neglect complaint resulted in the discovery of the child and a drug trafficking operation in an apartment.

According to WCPO, Aeriez Greene, 24, has been charged with the permission of drug abuse and child endangerment, and 26-year-old Rayshon Martin has been charged with trafficking and possession of cocaine and heroin along with child endangerment.

RENU agents seized over 27 grams of cocaine and more than 10 grams of heroin, along with marijuana, a firearm, and multiple items used to prepare and dispense narcotics.
