Police: Jennair Gerardot had reportedly sought marriage counseling before killing husband’s mistress

A scorned Pennsylvania woman reportedly shot a romantic rival that she thought was having an affair with her husband in an attack that concluded in a murder-suicide.

Police in Radnor Township indicated that 48-year-old Jennair Gerardot meticulously plotted the grisly murder on Monday night that resulted in the death of 33-year-old Meredith Chapman, CBS News reported.

“[Gerardot] went to great lengths to disguise herself,” Police Superintendent William Colarulo stated. “She wore a wig and took a train from Delaware. She broke into the victim’s house, and cleaned up the glass, so the victim didn’t realize someone was in her home.”

Authorities said Gerardot shot Chapman at roughly 7 p.m. The woman then shot herself.

The killer’s body was discovered near the kitchen, not far from Chapman’s.
