A “homeless-looking” Oregon man has admitted to sexually assaulting a horse after its owner discovered the animal “tied up in an unusual way” inside of a stable.

According to KPTV, 20-year-old Kenneth Lijah Duyck was booked into Washington County Jail last Thursday for sexually assaulting the animal and second-degree burglary resulting from the incident that occurred on a rural property in Hillsboro.

Police said Duyck broke into the stable and attacked a black horse named Ellie.

The property’s owner later found a bucket overturned, and in a call to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, indicated that the animal was “tied up in an unusual way.”

She then sent a picture of the horse to her daughter, who is a vet, who believed that the horse looked like she was sexually assaulted.

The owner also said she received a call a day before from a man who called himself “Duyck” asking if he could camp on her property.

The stable owner referred to Duyck as a “homeless-looking” man whom she saw talking to neighbors around the time of the incident. He was reportedly discovered sleeping in a vehicle on Tuesday in the parking lot of a Walmart in Cornelius.

Duyck told authorities that he broke into the stable to look for work before finally admitting to sexually assaulting the animal.

An affidavit also cited him as saying that he thinks he carried out the horrific act because he was off his medications.
