A woman from Washington state who “trolled” a police department’s Facebook profile about “getting away” from officers is now in custody.

On Saturday, 19-year-old Kayla Irizzary was arrested at roughly 2:30 a.m., just about two weeks after her first run-in with Moses Lake police officers. Irizzary was a passenger in a car when police executed a traffic stop.

The driver, 27-year-old Giovanni Powell, was taken into custody for driving with a suspended license, but officers released Irizzary because they had no legal reason to arrest her.

Police said Irizzary bragged on the department’s Facebook page for “getting away.” (Moses Lake Police Department)

Officers searched the car and discovered the 19-year-old’s ID along with a firearm, heroin, and her documents from the last time she was released from jail.

Irizzary is prohibited from possessing a firearm because she is a convicted felon.

The woman, however, seemed to get a little too passionate about “thwarting” authorities and decided to brazenly boast about it on the department’s Facebook page.

“Irizzary got on MLPD’s Facebook and was bragging about getting away, which we believe is the number one killer of criminal karma that there is,” the department said.

Police set up a meeting with Irizzary using social media and apprehended her after a brief foot pursuit.

Irizzary has been charged with illegal possession of a firearm and possession of heroin.
