Kansas lawmaker Carol Fowel allegedly bites corrections officer’s thumb hard enough to break it during a fight.

A lawmaker in Kansas has had a run-in with the law and faces felony charges after she reportedly bit a corrections officer’s thumb so hard that it broke a bone.

Carol Fowel, a 48-year-old Councilwoman in Huron City, was arrested back on June 29th after she neglected to appear for a warrant, according to KSHB.

Authorities were forced to use stun guns because she was fighting, kicking and scratching.

While in custody on July 2nd, the woman refused to comply with booking process instructions and when Atchison County Jail officers attempted to remove her jewelry and personal items, she bit down on one of the officer’s thumb, causing the bone to break, Sheriff Jack Laurie told the Atchison Globe.

Fowler is still listed as a council member on the county website.

She faces three felony charges for the June 29th and July 2nd incidents, one of which include battery on an officer.
