Connecticut authorities investigating a string of deaths due to possible heroin overdose

Connecticut authorities are investigating four deaths in the past two weeks that may be linked to a string of overdoses resulting from contaminated heroin.

According to WTNH, four people have died in the past nine days due to a suspected heroin overdose.

Police officials said Saturday that suspected heroin paraphernalia were discovered at each crime scene where the deaths took place in Litchfield County.

Investigators with the Connecticut Troopers and State Police Western District Major Crime Unit are working to determine whether the narcotics were contaminated with any other substances.

Authorities are urging people to call 911 immediately if they or someone they know displays symptoms of a drug overdose.
