On Monday, a man from Louisiana was arrested after he called 911 to check if he had any outstanding arrest warrants.

WGNO-TV reported that 24-year-old Christian Palacios called the Thibodaux police just after 10 p.m. and asked if he had any active arrest warrants.

Officers who responded to the call asked Palacios if he knew the difference between an emergency and a non-emergency call, and when he told them he was aware of the difference.

He was subsequently taken into custody for misuse the 911 system.

Palacios was issued a misdemeanor summons, which carries a penalty of up to 30 days behind bars and a penalty of up to $500.
