Border Patrol agents in Arizona arrested three U.S. citizens and a Mexican man in a pair of smuggling attempts, one resulting in the seizure of more than 14 pounds of methamphetamine and the other in the capture of two handguns.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said in a press release Tuesday that the seizures last weekend occurred at the San Luis crossing on the Arizona-Mexico border.

Border Patrol agents stopped a Mexican man and two U.S. men Saturday as they were leaving the United States for Mexico.

A search of the car assisted by a police dog turned up two Glock pistols.

In another case, a man from San Luis, Arizona returning to the U.S. was arrested Sunday after a police dog discovered the methamphetamine worth nearly $43,000 in his car.
