A North Carolina man was arrested last week after shoving $100 worth of ribeye steaks down his pants at a local Walmart and fled the store on a moped.

Cops said 17-year-old Keith Jordan walked out of the Nashville Walmart without paying for the meat, then jumped on his getaway moped and fled “in the pouring down rain.”

Sheriff’s Captain Carlos Ricks was on his way home when he received the call of the theft.

“Probably 45 seconds after I got the call, I noticed a vehicle fitting the description which happened to be a blue and white moped,” Ricks told CBS17.

When Ricks attempted to pull over the moped, the driver ignored his demands and kept driving for another three-quarter of a mile.

Jordan eventually finally stopped, and admitted to stealing the meat, Ricks said.

The Nash County Sheriff’s Office shared a photo of the suspect’s arrest in a Facebook post, which included at least 10 packages of stolen steaks.

Sheriff’s officials said the post had garnered more than 1,000 reactions and 800 shares by Tuesday morning.

The post added: “neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night” prevented officers from arresting the accused thief.

“He was going to do a stakeout,” one Facebook user commented on the post.

Another user joked: “He must’ve been really hungry.”

Officials have yet to announce formal charges against Jordan.
