Federal, state and local authorities in Arizona announced the arrests of twelve purported members of a drug trafficking enterprise tied to a Mexican drug cartel.

The Chandler Police Department revealed the arrests of 12 suspects tied to the drug trafficking enterprise that was smuggling large shipments of narcotics from the Mexican border to be distributed in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

The 13-month probe involved the Chandler Police Departement, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, and Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation was launched last year when the Chandler Police Department’s narcotics unit identified a group working in their jurisdiction, Detective Seth Tyler revealed.

During the bust, investigators seized two pounds of heroin, meth, and quantities of cocaine, marijuana, fentanyl, along with seven firearms, according to ABC15.

Authorities identified 12 suspects believed to be connected to the ring and took them into custody on July 24th.

Arizona law enforcement officials identified the suspects as: Guadalupe Larranaga, 37; Francisco Javier-Lopez, 37; Rodolfo Gaxiola-Vega, 26; Diego Vela-Valenzuela, 32; Gaspar Lopez-Felix, 32; Ray Villa, 57; Jesus Gonzales, 47; Vanessa Romero, 33; Jesse Raley, 39; Anna Larranaga, 37; Clarissa Moreno, 46; and Marisela Chavez-Borbon, 26.

All 12 individuals charged during the probe were booked into the Maricopa County Jail for illegal operation of an enterprise, money laundering, conspiracy to possess narcotics, and selling dangerous drugs.
