An 8-year-old child in Indiana died after he ingested 180 times the lethal limit of meth while under the supervision of his father, who purposely did not call authorities.

A toxicology report published last week indicated that Curtis Collman III was killed in June after 18,000 nanograms of meth had entered his bloodstream, according to The Seymour Tribune.

Jackson County Detective Tom Baker noted that the lethal amount for an adult is 100 nanograms.

Authorities said the boy was staying with his father, Curtis Collman II, when he ingested an unidentified amount of meth. The boy was taken to his grandparent’s residence the next day where he became ill and eventually unconscious.

The child was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died.

Court records indicate that 41-year-old Collman neglected to contact police and tried to deter others from calling 911.

He has been charged with neglect causing death, a felony punishable by up to 40 years behind bars, The Seymour Tribune reported.

Collman is next scheduled to appear in court on December 4th.
