A melee between rival rappers Booba and Kaaris forces terminal closure at Paris airport

A brawl between two rival French rappers at Orly airport in Paris on Wednesday prompted flight delays and even the brief closure of one terminal.

Some passengers ran for safety while others recorded footage of the melee on their phones as rappers Booba and Kaaris and their minders punched and lashed out with kicks even crashing through cosmetics stands in a duty-free store, according to videos posted on social media.

A border police spokesperson indicated that the two artists had been taken into custody along with nine members of their entourages.

ADP, which runs Orly, announced in a Twitter post that terminal one was temporarily closed after a dispute among passengers, The Guardian in the UK reported,

Booba, whose real name is Elie Yaffa, has previously been involved in fights with other artists on the French hip-hop scene.

The rapper has previously collaborated with Kaaris, albeit earlier on in his career. The two artists worked together on a song titled “Kalash” in 2012 — before their partnership went south.

A spokesperson for ADP also confirmed that some flights had been delayed as a result of the incident.
