Reputed cartel operative with ties in Laredo added to Texas Most Wanted list

A reputed cartel operative with ties in Laredo, Texas was recently placed on the state’s 10 Most Wanted list.

The Texas Department of Public Safety revealed that 45-year-old Ramon Mendoza Jr. is being sought after for vehicle and property theft, participating in organized crime, and conspiring to commit property theft.

Officials said say Mendoza has close ties to a Mexican cartel and is considered armed and dangerous.

Law enforcement officials indicated that Mendoza might go by the nickname of “Mon.”

His last verified address was in San Antonio.

Mendoza, who has an extensive criminal past has been wanted since 2016 in connection to a multi-agency probe of a transnational criminal group involved in the transport of stolen vehicles from San Antonio to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, The Laredo Morning Times reports.

Mendoza is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs roughly 170 pounds. He has tattoos on his stomach, back, chest, right shoulder, both arms, and legs.

Any information resulting in his apprehension would earn the tipster up to $7,500.
