Rapper Young Thug was arrested in Los Angeles on weapons charges after officers discovered a concealed firearm inside his car following an album release party on Friday.

LAPD officials said Young Thug whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, was charged with felony weapons possession shortly after midnight Friday.

Officer Drake Madison said Young Thug was being held on $35,000 bail.

Madison said several hundred people had gathered outside a Dave & Buster’s sports bar in the city’s Hollywood area, where the rapper was hosting an event for his new album, “Slime Language.”

Police detained Williams along with several in the crowd when officers found a firearm inside his car during a subsequent search, TMZ reported.

Madison provided no other details.

Williams was also picked up on drug and gun charges during a traffic stop near Atlanta back in September 2017.
