An 18-page indictment outlines the names and charges for 15 people indicted late last month for narcotics-related offenses in North Carolina’s Middle District as part of a takedown of a nationwide drug trafficking ring.

Detectives said this is the second roundup in this case and additional suspects are expected to be charged, according to local press reports.

Since the probe is still pending, U.S. attorneys could not provide specific details regarding the case.

However, they did say the investigations spans across multiple states, which includes Washington state, South Carolina, New Jersey, California, and North Carolina.

The first round of indictments in the case were brought in February 2017, when 32 suspects were indicted on drug charges related to meth, cocaine, and heroin.

According to officials, 31 of those 32 individuals are serving time in a federal lockup.

Detect withives revealed that both rounds of indictments resulted from the seizure of at least 41 kilos of meth, 79 kilos of cocaine, a half a kilo of heroin, along more than $42,000 in cash.

“This is a large amount, but it’s not unique to communities like Rowan County,” U.S. Attorney Matt Martin stated. “You see drug trafficking of this sort along some of the major highways and byways, so this is a battle.”
