Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Sector apprehended several Salvadoran immigrants who illegally crossed from Mexico.

The foreigners have been identified as members of the ultra-violent MS-13 gang.

According to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection press release, agents took nine Salvadoran nationals into custody between Friday and Wednesday. While being processed, the nine Salvadorans were identified as MS-13 members, Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol officials revealed.

Officials said one of the nine individuals arrested was a female gang member who was with her eight-year-old child.

The Rio Grande Valley Sector has made numerous MS-13 related-arrests of this fiscal year, officials said.

Agents working at the McAllen Station apprehended two members in separate incidents last Friday. Both men have been previously deported.

Last Friday evening, agents arrested four individuals who illegally crossed from Mexico near the town of La Grulla, Texas.

One of the men was a Salvadoran MS-13 member who was deported before. The man also has an extensive criminal past.

Authorities in Nassau County, Florida arrested the man for witness intimidation, resisting arrest, assault with intent to cause injury with a weapon, along with disorderly conduct.

He is currently being sought after by Florida police for violating his probation.

A few weeks prior, Rio Grande Valley Sector agents arrested two additional gang members who illegally cross into the U.S. Agents at the Falfurrias Border Patrol Station in Brooks County busted a member with a conviction in his home country.

The man told authorities he served time in a prison in El Salvador after he was convicted of being an accessory to a double homicide.

Two days later, Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector’s Special Operations Detachment arrested another Salvadoran immigrant near Los Ebanos, Texas.
