Texas authorities identify mom who brought her baby on a high-speed chase as 29-year-old Caitlyn Rodriguez

A Texas woman led police on a high-speed pursuit then proceeded to flee on foot after she crashed her vehicle and tried to hijack a car, all while holding a baby.

In a video that was published by the Texas Department of Public Safety on Friday, 29-year-old Caitlyn Rodriguez is seen driving at up to 100mph at certain points, KSAT reported.

Despite having a baby in a car seat, she hastily bolts down the highway, shockingly weaving in front of oncoming traffic.

Rodriguez ultimately lost of her car before smashing into a truck in front after a police device deflated the tires on her Mercedes.

However, it didn’t end there. The scene gets even more horrifying as the woman gets out of the wrecked car and then runs down the side of the road with her baby.

Then Rodriguez ambushes a white car full of passengers, which officers claim she was attempting to hijack, but it was too late and they apprehended her.

The footage that was shared on August 31st in a Public Safety Commission meeting concludes with her being taken out of the vehicle and arrested.

Authorities went to ensure the child’s safety by picking up the car seat and moving it away from the chaos.

The Bexar County event was recorded on camera in June and reportedly resulted in charges of child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance, and evading arrest.

Child Protective Services have taken custody of the infant.
