Authorities in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juárez are on alert after multiple videos came to light from a Sinaloa Cartel-aligned group which is threatening force against a former ally.

The videos show a split between “Los Artistas Asesinos” or “Doble AA” and “Los Mexicles,” which work throughout the El Paso-Juárez Metropolitan Area, local media reported.

In one piece of footage, people identified themselves as part of Doble AA–while sporting tactical gear and rifles. They are shown posing in front of several cars with strobe lights and an armory to threaten Los Mexicles. In another video, multiple firearms are arranged on a tarp while a narrator declares violent threats.

A spokesperson for the Chihuahua state attorney general’s office revealed that both groups are cells with the Sinaloa Cartel and keep strong footprints in the eastern area of Ciudad Juárez, according to local media reports.

The official downplays the videos by explaining they are still investigating the contents and urge users not to share them on social media.

Ciudad Juárez remains at the center of a bloody cartel war that continues to claim a high number of victims. The violence resulted in a security alert prohibiting U.S. government employees from going downtown without expressed permission.

The increase in violence resulted from a split between Juárez Cartel aligned-groups Los Aztecas and La Linea. Línea and Aztecas were fighting together against Los Mexicles and Doble AA. Currently, all four groups are threatening attacks against each other for numerous different reasions.

According to Breitbart Texas, security agencies are on increased alert in anticipation of turf violence between Doble AA and Los Mexicles.

Between January and July of this year, Ciudad Juarez registered 713 murders. During the same period last year, a total of 412 were recorded while 2016 had 241.
