The wife of infamous Mexican drug lord known as “El Mencho” was released from a prison after posting a million pesos bail package.

Rosalinda González Valencia, the wife of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), left the Federal Women’s Penalty of Morelos on Friday night, Proceso reported.

González Valencia was detained in Zapopan, Jalisco, on May 26th for organized crime and money laundering offenses.

Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office accused the woman of serving as a financial operator for the New Generation Cartel.

She was allegedly connected to a network of 73 companies and individuals who laundered millions in drug proceeds for the CJNG.

In addition to being the wife of Mexico’s most feared drug lord, she is also the sister of Abagail Valencia alias “El Cuini,” who is identified by U.S. Drug Enforcement officials as the “world’s richest drug trafficker.”

“El Mencho” continues to be the most sought-after fugitive on both sides of the border.

Last month, U.S. and Mexican authorities announced a new law enforcement unit aimed at targeting the CJNG’s criminal activities in Chicago.

Law enforcement officials also announced a multi-million dollar bounty for the arrest of “El Mencho.”
