Authorities in Massachusetts reported that they have taken down a multistate ATM and vehicle theft enterprise managed by a career criminal known as Willy Wonka or “the Chocolate Man.”

The six-month probe that resulted in five arrests was dubbed Operation Golden Ticket and involved 50 police agencies, WCVB reported.

William “Willy Wonka” Rodriguez remained in custody on $500,000 bail after entering a not guilty plea last week to 60 charges tied to crimes committed in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Connecticut that profited over $300,000 worth of property and currency.

Nelson Rodriguez was ordered to remain in custody on $60,000 bail after pleading not guilty to 44 charges.

A third defendant is held on $1,000 bail, and an additional two suspects are still on the lam.

William Rodriguez’s lawyer agreed with bail. Nelson Rodriguez’s attorney contended his client is entitled to the “dignity” of being released on bail.
