LAPD release video of an officer-involved shooting that killed a suspect and wounded cop

Police in Los Angeles released footage of an officer-involved shooting that killed an armed suspect and wounded a cop during a traffic stop last month.

LAPD officials posted the edited video online taken from a police body camera and patrol car dash-cam on Monday.

The footage shows the officer approaching a car on July 27 in North Hills.

The cop recognizes the driver identified as 32-year-old Richard Mendoza — and asks if he’s still on probation.

Mendoza exits the vehicle, before brandishing a firearm and opening fire.

The cop collapses after sustaining a gunshot wound to her leg.

A second officer opens fire, killing Mendoza.

The injured officer could be heard in the video crying out as her partner radios for assistance.

The LAPD has launched an investigation into the officer-involved fatal shooting incident.
