A number of rival drug cartels and organized crime factions agreed to come to temporary peace at a clandestine meeting after a series of arrests targeting the principal criminal enterprise in the Mexican state of Michoacan.

The most significant occurred soon after one of the top cartel commanders offered $100,000 to kill a writer for Breitbart Texas –he was apprehended less than 48 hours after announcing the bounty.

The summit was reportedly held in Tarecuato, Michoacan, where the heads of several drug cartels including Los Viagras, Knights Templar, Los Rojos, Guardia Guerrerense, the Sinaloa Cartel faction known as La Gente Nueva, Cartel Nueva Plaza and Cartel Michoacan Nueva Generación, an offshoot of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel reportedly gathered to negotiate a temporary ceasefire.

The area is deemed neutral territory by the drug cartels.

According to intelligence sources cited by Breitbart Texas, the meeting was called by the leader of Los Viagras, Nicolas “El Gordo” Santana Sierra, after a number of his associates were recently apprehended by federal officials–which heavy hit the cartel.

Santana Sierra is the same drug kingpin who recently published footage alleging that the current governor of Michoacan, Silvano Aureoles Conejo, paid him to get votes and also offered money for a truce among cartels.

The most destructive blow to Los Viagras occurred when the Mexican Navy captured Santana’s second-in-command, Cesar “El Boto” Sepulveda Arellano.

The arrest was made less than 48 hours after Sepulveda offered a $100,000 bounty on a writer for Breitbart Texas.

Law enforcement sources with information about the summit indicated that those in attendance included Santana Sierra and his brother, Santiago.

Miguel Angel “Migueladas” Gallegos Godoy and Juan “El Abuelo” Farias Alvarez represented a CJNG cell which is identified as Cartel Michoacán Nueva Generación.

One of the top officials with the Michoacán Attorney General’s Office, Felix “El Chilito Relleno” Hernandez, was also reportedly present for the meeting.

Many cartel leaders in Michoacán manage to interact amicably with authorities and military personnel.

Hernandez was called out in the past by the media for extorting cash from regular citizens.
