Armed Chuck E. Cheese customer accidentally shoots himself causing panic

Chuck E. Cheese has long prided itself as the establishment where “a kid can be a kid,” but the restaurant obviously draws the line at gun use.

Washington State authorities said a 22-year-old customer at Chuck E. Cheese was rushed to the hospital last Sunday after he accidentally shot himself in the leg inside the restaurant, KOMO News reported.

The incident occurred just after 5 p.m. at Chuck E. Cheese in Tacoma, leading patrons inside to begin panicking upon after hearing the shot fired.

“A bunch of people started running and then they said somebody has a gun, so everybody starts running,” Nick Jones, the father of a 4-year-old who was at a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese, said.

The establishment was then evacuated, with other customers assisting to clear the establishment, according to Q13 Fox. No one else was wounded.

The 22-year-old man was raced to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

Authorities noted that the man brought his concealed-carry gun into the restaurant legally, but parents were furious that he took his firearm inside in the first place, as it is a place mainly for children.
