A Florida man who robbed $600 worth of cigarettes from a convenience store has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

A Pensacola jury found 48-year-old Robert Spellman guilty of burglary and grand theft last month.

Investigators indicated that he went into the Circle K in the 200 block of West Cervantes Street and stole ten cartons of cigarettes from a locked office in the stock room last December.

His sentencing took place on Friday.

According to The Pensacola News Journal, Spellman reported had 14 felony and 31 misdemeanor convictions before the cigarette incident, which categorized him as a habitual felony offender.

That resulted in the lengthy 20-year state sentence ordered Friday by a judge in Escambia County.
