An attorney who previously represented convicted ex-rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight was arrested for federal bank fraud after depositing a stolen $1 million U.S. Treasury check.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles said federal agents arrested Thaddeus Julian Culpepper on Monday after being charged last week with one count of bank fraud.

According to the Associated Press, Culpepper allegedly told a bank teller that a client had endorsed the $1 million check to him.

An affidavit alleges that the listed payees did not know the lawyer.

Culpepper and another of Knight’s former attorney is also facing charges in a separate case for conspiring to bribe potential witnesses.

“Suge” Knight fired Culpepper from his case earlier this year.

Knight pleaded no contest in recent weeks to charges of manslaughter over a fatal confrontation at a Compton Bugar stand.
